From gathering, organizing and verifying patient/member/provider information to managing and sharing vital data, records, forms and reports has become a monumental task, especially with HIPAA compliances.
Healthcare and Service organizations are required to maintain, process, store or have access to patient identifiable information for their organization or on behalf of another organization, they must comply with the HIPAA regulations. That rule required that all patient information be kept confidential and that access to the information be audited. Records are to be kept secure at all times with access limited to only those people who require access for records transfer or other official purposes.
In addition, Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) requires “covered entities” (HIPAA-compliant healthcare facilities, i.e., physician offices, health plans, billing agencies, IS vendors, services & provider organizations, hospitals & universities) must adopt the “Transactions and Code Sets” standards for uniform transmission of electronic healthcare records, known as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Covered entities will no longer be able to submit transactions on paper.
As healthcare & service organizations are working to meet these standards, electronic content and records management solutions has become a hot topic in managing and sharing intra-healthcare information across their respective boundaries.
ContentDistributor™ intranet/content management solution organizes and maintains information while using a role-based security model. HIPAA is mandating that access to confidential information is role-based. In that capacity, only individuals who serve in designated capacities (i.e. roles) at designated times can see the patient’s confidential information. ContentDistributor™ maintains detailed audit trails in regards to how information is accessed and by whom and can systematically schedule retention requirements.
IIT HIPAA EDI engine (optional) has the ability to parse formats including HIPAA (834, 837, etc), X12, XML, HCFA, UB92, etc., and the ability to scan the respected forms and supporting documents for archival and retrieval purposes.
One of ContentDistributor™ strengths is the immediate access to information for the knowledge worker to perform their duties and research. ContentDistributor™ metadata allows codes (i.e. patient, treatment, billing, etc) to be used for search retrieval processes and reporting.
Using ContentDistributor™, healthcare organizations can leverage technology, share, manage, and collaborate effectively by protecting confidential information.

Providers Providers and affiliated local agencies are tasked with many state regulations, policies, and procedures, while managing a wide array of services. ContentDistributor™ is an economical solution to assist Providers in managing their content, collaborate with internal employees/counselors/physician, counselor time logging, transmit & communicate to their Behavioral Health Authority, and protect & secure confidential data. It is the one place where individuals can quickly acquire and search for information.
In addition, IIT HIPAA EDI engine is the perfect solution to arrange and format 834s and demographic data for Providers to submit to their RBHA. To see a demonstration and to learn more about these solutions, please contact IIT.
Behavioral Health Authorities & Associations As Regional Behavioral Health Authorities (RBHA) prepare, manage and validate incoming data and information from their networks and providers for state agency submissions. RBHAs need a solid solution to perform these life-cycle management tasks and leverage their knowledge workers to more productive activities rather than spend time on missing data.
Interaction Information Technology offers 3 different solution components:
